I knew Don through my work for Thamesmead/ Gallions Housing Association. His outlook was always optimistic, forever patient with the slow wheels of bureaucracy, and as I recall amazingly forgiving at failure to deliver - well, maybe next time, maybe if we keep at it, that’s the way it is. His generosity with his time for the good of the community was fantastic, and his determination to make a difference achieved a lot. Most of all, I think now of his constant wry good humour and gentle thoughtfulness. Someone I always looked forward to having a reason to meet with.
